Curated Images Engineer

RapidFort is a cutting-edge cybersecurity startup on a mission to automate vulnerability management. We've developed an innovative Open Source project featuring a collection of popular Open Source container images that are automatically hardened via our Software Attack Surface Management Platform.

We're seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Curated Images Team. You'll be responsible for adding, maintaining, and growing the RapidFort curated images project while upholding high standards of quality, efficiency, and consistency.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 8 years of experience, including delivering at a similar level previously
  • Solid understanding of virtualization and containerization (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Build software from source code and apply patches and updates to existing components
  • Strong proficiency in shell scripting
  • Experience in large-scale software systems design, and familiarity with fundamental computer science concepts (algorithms, complexity, data structures).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Passion for working in an early-stage venture environment
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, and respond with agility when requirements and priorities change.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with open-source software supply chain, contributions, managing CVEs
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management concepts
  • Familiarity with Helm Charts and Docker-Compose
  • Understanding of CI/CD frameworks (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Gitlab)

Experience: 8- 10 years

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of individual open-source container images in RapidFort Community Images
  • Debug and resolve issues related to respective projects.
  • Analyzing, designing and implementing high-quality solutions to problems with well-tested, maintainable code.
  • Write detailed documentation for knowledge sharing.
  • Attend daily scrums and collaborate closely with Dev Teams to achieve product objectives.
  • Contribute to the growth and improvement of our open-source community.
  • Demonstrating end-to-end ownership for the delivery of key efforts, and leading peers in the delivery of particularly broad efforts as a technical lead.
